Janmashtami is a special and vibrant festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna. At our school, this festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm, and we, the kids, are an essential part of this joyful occasion.

Decorating the School: In the days leading up to Janmashtami, our school comes alive with colorful decorations. We, the kids, get to help in decorating the classrooms and corridors with flowers, rangoli, and beautiful drawings of Lord Krishna.

Dressing Up: On the big day, we all come to school dressed as little Radhas and Krishnas. It’s so much fun to wear the traditional attire, complete with peacock feathers and crowns.

Breaking the Matki: Another exciting activity is the “Dahi Handi” or breaking the matki (pot) filled with butter. We form human pyramids to reach the matki hung high above. It’s a thrilling and challenging task, and we cheer for our friends who participate.

Feasting: Janmashtami wouldn’t be complete without delicious food. Our school serves yummy treats like butter, sweets, and fruits to all the kids. It’s a time to enjoy tasty snacks with friends.

Singing Bhajans: We also learn and sing beautiful bhajans (devotional songs) in praise of Lord Krishna during our Janmashtami celebrations. The melodies and rhythms fill the air with devotion.

Crafts and Art: In our classrooms, we engage in creative activities like making paper flutes, decorating peacock feathers, and crafting mini butter pots. It’s a chance to express our creativity and celebrate Krishna’s love for butter.

Learning Values: Janmashtami is not just about fun; it also teaches us valuable lessons of devotion, friendship, and the victory of good over evil through the stories of Lord Krishna.
