Subject – EVS
Topic – To observe the growth of fungus on a slice of bread.
* Fungus is a microorganism that mostly grows on rotten food.
Here we have tried to grow fungus on a slice of bread .
*Observation –
We observed the bread slice at every alternate day and noted down the observation.
*Bread was kept for incubation at 20 th August.
* 21st August(1 day ) :
No growth of fungus was seen.
*22 nd August( 2 day ) :
No growth of fungus was seen.
* 23 Rd August(3 day) :
No growth of fungus was seen .
( As it is rainy season, due to low temp . Growth of fungus was not observed.)
* 24th August( 4th day ):
No growth of fungus but smell changed.
* 25 th August( 5 th day ):
Small white filaments like growth was seen in two patches
* 26th August( 6th day ) :
Growth of white filaments along with little yellow colour patch was seen .
* 27 th August( 7th day ):
Two yellow coloured patches with whitish growth of fungus was seen giving bad odour.
* 28th August( 8th day ):
Along with yellow patch , green mould was seen .
* 29 th August( 9th day )
*30 th August( 10 th day )
Yellow, green and black mould was seen with fully grown fungus, giving bad odour.
* Learning outcome:-
Students will understand the structure of microorganism.
* They will know the time period required for the fungus to grow.
* They will also get aware of the necessary conditions required for the fungus to grow.
* Students will develop or refine their skill in conducting experiments.
* This will help to develop communication skill among students while performing group activity, decision making and problem solving will also be develop.
